Storage Hunters Open World Mutations: Multipliers, Stacking & Best Picks

Void is the highest mutation with a numeric multiplier in the current public table. Use the list below to compare every known multiplier, then calculate from the item's base value and condition before you bid.

Answer first

What is the best known mutation right now?

The current community table lists Void at 35x, Hologram at 15x, Chrome and Timeless at 12x, Gem at 10x, and Diamond at 8x. Secret, Rainbow, and Huge are named but do not currently have a published multiplier. Roblox's game page confirms Gold, Diamond, Void, and Rainbow as rare mutations, but it does not publish odds.

What changed

The August 2 review removed the previous numeric Secret claim because the current community mutation table now shows Secret with an unknown multiplier. Void is therefore the highest presently quantified entry on this page.

A dash means the mutation is named but the reviewed public table does not provide a usable number. Those entries are excluded from numeric estimates.

Stacking rule

Add the multipliers; do not multiply them together

The current community mutation page says multipliers add when more than one mutation is present. For example, Silver 2x plus Gold 4x is treated as 6x, not 8x. Condition is still part of the final sell-price calculation, so a multiplier alone is not a guaranteed profit figure.

Worked example

Silver + Gold starts from 6x

A base-max-value $100 item with Silver 2x and Gold 4x starts from a combined 6x mutation factor. That does not automatically mean a $600 sale: condition and the game's value curve still affect the result.

In-game workflow

Value a mutated item in four steps

This workflow keeps a rare-looking item from turning into an overbid.

Step 1

Read the item's base max value

Use the Collection entry or an item reference page. Do not use the auction price as the base value.

Step 2

Add known mutation multipliers

For stacked mutations, add the listed multipliers. Leave unknown entries out of a numeric estimate instead of guessing.

Step 3

Include condition before judging profit

Condition changes the final sell price. Compare the calculated sale estimate with your bid and other costs.

Step 4

Set a bid ceiling

Decide the most you can pay while keeping a profit margin, then stop bidding when the auction crosses it.

FAQ

Mutation quick answers

What is the best mutation in Storage Hunters?

Void is the highest mutation with a current numeric public multiplier at 35x. Secret and Rainbow may be chase mutations, but their current numeric multipliers are not published in the community table.

Do mutations stack in Storage Hunters?

The current community mutation page says their multipliers are additive. Silver 2x plus Gold 4x is therefore treated as 6x.

What is the Rainbow mutation multiplier?

Roblox names Rainbow as a rare mutation, but the current public mutation table does not give it a numeric multiplier or official odds.

Does Dirty lower item value?

Yes. The current table lists Dirty at 0.8x, so it reduces the value used in the sale calculation.
